This is Rose's review:Rosemary has a nice way of writing. She is very adventurous!!! It was interesting that she sometimes listened to the advice of those who followed her blog. She was so flexible as she made decisions along the way. I appreciated the fact that she told us how she felt as she went along--happy to find someone to talk with in English, seeing family and familiar friends. I think it is great that she is willing to share her story in book form as well as willing to talk to groups. Everyone can learn from her experience. I commend Rosemary for traveling because she wanted to do it. As you read the book carefully you will learn some important truths she learned about herself. That, too, is important!

Rosemary Dukelow's account of her free flowing world tour is a good read, but be careful. Her story is dangerous if you suffer from wander lust.
This was a fun book to read. I learned things about other countries and about foreign travel I never would have imagined. The entire time I was reading it, I wished I could have been there too.
Enjoyed reading her travels to the different countries and what she encountered in each place. Easy reading, fun, and humorous. I wish I could be as brave as her.
I was reading this and wondering how in the world she was going to make it around the world with everyone telling her which way to go! But she made it. The descriptions of out-of-the-way places was very educational. I had no idea some of the lesser known corners of the world could be so hospitable to tourists. And some of the places that I thought would be friendly to foreigners turned out to be not so hospitable to Rosemary. Anyway, this is a book that makes you want to take care of the bucket list and get out your passport.
This is a fascinating short read about a brave lady who walked & sailed continuously for almost a year around the world. I enjoyed the way the writer put both her enjoyable and not so enjoyable moments in to a chatty voice. I can imagine her telling these travel stories in person easily. I liked that she included some photos. The writer obviously loves to travel & did this trip on a real shoe string budget. So many choices were made for budget options, which is how I travel also that made me relate to her. I'm not the walker this lady is, nor do I sail so many of my choices would be different, so I was glad to read her travel tactics rather than experience them myself. It is a wonderful armchair travel book.
